Official Games Functions SOCIAL EVENTS Please Note: The 2002 NSW Masters Games is a private function and as such guests are not required to conform to normal Registered Club Dress codes. If any participants wish to use the Club facilities downstairs the NSW Registered Clubs Dress regulations apply-no thongs, singlets or hats permitted. Shorts. t-shirts and joggers are acceptable before 8.30pm. For the duration of the Masters Games all participants, volunteers and supporters are to use the Coffs Ex-Services Club "Special Events Entry" doors. This entry is left of the main doors in Vernon St. and will be manned at all times by Games VOLUNTEERS. The entry will be themed and will be for the exclusive use of the Masters Games Family. DAILY DRINKS AT THE MASTERS BAR relax at the end of each day of competition with a few drinks with fellow competitors at the Masters Bar, upstairs in the Coffs Ex-Services Club, opens at 5pm each day from Tuesday the 10th till Saturday the 14th inclusive. Come and see the video footage taken of sports action during the day-you may even see yourself up on the big screen! Note, this function will not be held on Friday 13th (night of the Opening Ceremony). THURSDAY 12TH After a hard days competition all athletes are invited to dine in the Bunkers Bistro downstairs at the Games Village. All meals are reasonably priced and the menu is extensive. Alternatively they may wish to eat at one of Coffs Harbours many fine cuisine restaurants. After dark the main entertainment lounge at Games Village will be buzzing with the sounds of the " Duelling DJ"s". Dance until the late hours and get into the party mode.** Please note that normal Club dress rules apply. FRIDAY 13th – Parade of Sports and Opening Ceremony Athletes and other participants, including registered supporters, volunteers and sports convenors, are requested to assemble with their respective sports groups at 4.30 pm at a destination to be decided. The Parade Of Sports will travel down " The Masters Mall", past the official podium and stand in their sports groups. There will be an official welcome after which the NSW Masters Games participants" oath will be recited. Participants Oath: "In the name of all participants, I (ATHLETES NAME) promise that we shall take part in the 2002 NSW Masters Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, in the true spirit of Masters Games where participation comes before competition, for the glory of sport and the honour of our fellow participants". The Parade of Sports will then proceed onto the Games Village in the Ex-Services Club where a light buffet will be provided free of charge. Vegas –Style Party band "International Legends in Concert" will perform on the night and deliver a spectacular show that brings to the stage many of the most famous characters of the last 40 years. It’s not often that patrons get to see so much in one night, so many different artists covered in one spectacular show. Apart from dazzlind costumes and fun packed non-stop action, these veterans of the stage take their talents into the audience so that everyone can feel part of the show. No matter how old or how young, there is something for everyone-gags, revelry, comedy and great songs. SATURDAY 14TH- Legends Dinner and Party Band The opportunity to have dinner and hear some legends of sport speak about their experiences and the highs and lows of competition at the elite level of their sport. Guest speakers Shane Gould-Olympian-Masters Games Ambassador Margaret Russell- Senior competitor- Masters Games Legend Two surprise guests After dinner party on with great live music, superb entertainment with fast paced action and side-splitting comedy. Sit, watch and be thoroughly entertained by the ‘Stars’ and enjoy a wonderful selection of many of the biggest hits of all time.
Saturday Night for Line Dancers Social line dancing at the Guide Hall, High St. Coffs Harbour from 7pm. Come and join the line dance competitors and meet some of the Judges for this Masters Event.
SUNDAY 15th Line Dance Competition At the
The competition starts at 10.30am, with social dancing between the sections. There is NO CHARGE on Sunday for spectators, ALL LINE DANCERS ARE MOST WELCOME....it will be a full day of competition and social dancing. There will be a lunch break around 12 till 1...then more competition and social dancing. The competition should run 'till about 3pm-then presentations, and social dancing as long as there are people who want to dance. After the competition has finished-there will be workshops providing time permits. There is entertainment at the club for those who want to attend. SUNDAY NIGHT 15TH-The Last Stand This evening will be staged downstairs in the Clubs main entertainment center and will be for the participants to relive the last several days of competition and say goodbye to old and new friends. The entertainment will be a country rock band and all bar areas will be open. Participants are invited to dine at Bunkers Bistro. The band will play till 10pm.**Please note that normal Club Dress Rules apply. |
